Mike tosses the empty cup somewhere on the couch as he gets on his feet and strides toward Lucas’ dancing form, tucking a stray hair into his gelled hair as he tells him that he is leaving and asks him to drive Will home.
“Where are you-” Lucas shouts over the music.
“Important.” He plainly states, earning him a questioning look before he turns away and toward the front door.
He’s got a plan.

Once Mike and Will finally crossed that line with each other it turns out it was extremely hard to hide a relationship when all you wanted to do was hump each other’s brains out.
Innocent shared looks across the table turned into a dangerous game of footsie under the table and sitting too close together on the couch became playing a game of chicken under a blanket while the rest of their friends tried to watch the VHS tape they had rented for the night.

Mike knows this is a bad idea. Knows he’ll be red the whole time and stutter and give himself away, but this is Will. Will with his hands in his hair, so close Mike can stare all he wants. Fantasize about what a kiss might be like. Hidden away in the safety of what should’ve been their bedroom. Maybe he can use today to convince Will it can be.
“Only if you make me look good.”
Will stands with a sweet smile. “Easiest job in the world then.” And then he disappears into the hallway before Mike can even start to stumble in front of him.
