“Yeah, whatever, mate,” Tangerine sighed, looking skyward for guidance only to receive a massive fuck you as the fluorescent lights burned holes into his retinas, temporarily spotting his vision.
He listened as Lemon let out a low sigh, the sound of it grading against Tangerine’s nerves as he realized that they were wasting time.
Any second now, Ladybug would be rummaging through luggage, searching for the briefcase—snatching it and inevitably restarting this whole mind fuck of a day. It didn’t matter if Tangerine managed to avoid getting shot to death; he'd end up with his arms chopped off once they reached Kyoto if the case and the White Death’s son weren’t intact. Then, instead of being treated to the peaceful release of death, he’d end up here again, sitting in front of Lemon with two packets of fucking biscuits clutched in his hands as he’d no doubt try to fight off the trauma of dying and coming back to life like he was fucking Jesus Christ himself.
It was complete and utter bullshit.
Or: Tangerine gets stuck in a time loop.

Charles can't leave an innocent man in jail, even (especially) if it's Erik.
And Erik won't let Charles destroy himself and his gifts, hiding away from a world that desperately needs him. This time Erik isn't going anywhere, no matter how many times Charles tells him to leave.
