Travis looked like a startled animal as Sal smacked the letter down on his desk. “It’s been you?”
Travis’ face turned bright red, and he dropped the papers in his hands immediately. Sal knew it was him; he’s never seen Travis look like this before. Sal thought back to every time he’s spoken to Travis, every letter he’s left in Sal’s locker, every time he’s caught Travis staring at him with what he thought was disgust. It made no sense that Travis Phelps, of all people, would have a crush on him. It didn’t add up. Nothing made sense. Sal felt nauseous. Why did it have to be him?
What if Sal and Travis never met in the bathroom, but Travis actually delivered the note he wrote into Sal’s locker? Plus several more for three whole years…
