Summary

Somehow, someway, his pleas were heard, and Michael found himself thrown into quite a twist, and reality itself seemed to have been flipped onto its head. Was Michael losing his mind? Summary
A month after they were miraculously able to defeat Max, turning Michael in the process, the boys were now free. After a couple weeks of relishing in the parties, sex, and drugs that defined summer in Santa Carla, tension and bad vibes were growing in the cave. The increasingly noticeable absence of David and their newest pack member was causing things to get rough between Marko, Paul, and Dwayne, and it only seemed to be getting worse as the three of them had no clue how to fix things themselves. Now, either they get off their asses and do something, or they wallow in pity until David and Michael come back. The choice was pretty damn clear.

Summary
Soon after Michael is turned, the boys realise that David has been spending all of his time with the new fledgling, and keeping the boys from bonding with him properly. Rather than try to communicate or negotiate this, they engage in various shenanigans to protest this, putting their relationship on strike until their bonds are acknowledged and respected.

But while out, he runs into the gang as they take Laddie on a quest for candy. Invited to tag along, the night becomes one Michael will never forget.

He takes a deep breath before turning around the corner into the main room. He knows what’s there, it hasn’t left his mind in the past four months, but his breath still hitches when he sees it.
David’s body. Even in death, he is ageless, pale face and gaping wounds looking exactly how Michael had left them. Maybe the lack of decay meant there was still some life left, something Michael could grip and pry out until he felt David’s ice cold gaze piercing his soul again.
“Hi, David.”
