Summary
The rate at which time passes depends on your frame of reference he’d said, sotto voce, and Wei Ying had nodded. He was no physicist, but he could understand this. Time had slipped past that year, sometimes too quickly and sometimes luxuriously slow. The heat returned and the days ticked by, and then it was summer again, and Wei Ying was still falling.
It was June and Wei Ying was happy. -

Summary
“It is hard to write a beautiful song. It is harder to write several individually beautiful songs that, when sung simultaneously, sound as a more beautiful polyphonic whole.” (John Rahn)
In music, counterpoint is the relationship between two or more musical lines that are independent melodies, yet harmonically interdependent.
Lan Wangji, the principal cellist in his orchestra, finds himself performing JS Bach’s Art of Fugue with a student string quartet one semester and falls in love with the ways his life intersects with that of the lead violinist.
Wei Wuxian, a composition major, finds himself echoing that sentiment, and the story takes on some of the complexity and fascination of the music they are learning.

Summary
There was something else, too. The softest hush-hush rustle of fabric. The barest creak of muscle. And then, an exhale. A heartbeat that seemed, for a moment, to reverberate through the city itself, that broke her unbearable waiting, that filled her chest and brought her to waking…
Clark opened his eyes, staring up into the darkness.
There was nothing there. But a moment ago, there had been. And, whatever it was, it had been watching him.
"You're real," he whispered to the night.
A series of strange murders. A vengeful protector, cloaked in shadow. A city that breathes and lives and watches. Clark Kent can sense Gotham's hostility from the moment he crosses its border — but its currents pull him closer to its mysteries, and the deeper his investigations go, the more he begins to belong...

Summary
One day, in spring, he comes to the Inn.
Hob looks up and he’s there, and the relief is blinding. He thinks tu m’as manqué, fuck, because you were missing from me feels more true than I missed you ever has. English missing was ruined for him the moment he learned the French way of it. Longing is meant to be a reflexive verb.
It would be a bad faith translation, even for him. He tells himself this is why he doesn’t say it.
He thinks at last, and that’s a doable one. So he smiles, says, “You’re late.”

The story that made me realize just how much I missed ballet.
I've read this more times than I care to count. So so lovely.
