    Summary

“Has the Council sent you to assist Master Jinn and Padawan Kenobi, Master Jedi?” a fifteen-year-old Padmé Amidala, Queen of Naboo, asked him. “I’m afraid you’ve come too late. The battle is over, and last I saw of the Jedi, they were fighting that creature with the red blade. I haven’t seen them since.”

Oh, Anakin thought with dawning horror, oh, and found himself running for the shield generator.

Or: Anakin time travels to the moment of Qui-Gon’s death. The aftermath puts quite a few things in perspective.

Time-travel with an introspective twist; Anakin finally learning just how convoluted the first few days and weeks were for everyone after TPM, and what Palpatine really is. Good short-fic and to the point; did wish that there was an addendum/coda for the other universe.

    Summary

    "Help me.

Obi-Wan hesitated. Anakin’s lightsaber was still active, still bathing its owner in the crimson light that spoke of blood and anger, but his distress was palpable in the Force. Anakin swayed, and then he toppled over in much the same way a mountain crumbled. The lightsaber carefully, slowly—as if it doubted that it should—rolled out of his fingers, dark moondust engulfing the gleaming hilt.

    Anakin didn’t move.

“Oh, blast it all,” Obi-Wan breathed out, and found himself on his knees in front of the suit he’d nearly destroyed only minutes ago. His lightsaber hissed as he deactivated it and hung it on his belt, and his hands hovered over Anakin uselessly. The debris of the same rocks he’d thrown at him now dug painfully in his knees, and he could feel the way that dirt and soot were clinging to his skin, mixing with sweat.

This was the worst possible thing he could do, and he wordlessly asked for absolution as he grabbed Anakin by his armpits and began to heave him towards his starship.

Excellent AU (that ignores Reva Sevander's traipse through Tatooine at the end of EP 6) that shows what could happen between Anakin and Obi-Wan if a small but significant ask had been said. Recommended reading.

    Summary

A hand grasped his arm, sending a brief thrill down Merlin's nerves as he was forced around to face the person behind him. Armour gleamed in the firelight: supple chainmail glinted, and the solid iron of a pauldron curved lovingly over one broad shoulder. The length of a sword blade separated them. The point hovered, steady and sure, over Merlin's heart, braced to run him through, but he did not care about any of that. He was too busy drinking in the sight of the man before him.

He could never forget him, no matter how many centuries had passed.

    'Arthur?'

When Merlin ultimately fails in his destiny, the fading remnants of magic that linger in the modern world fling him not just back in time, but sideways as well. He ends up in a Camelot where all his friends are alive, well and aware of his magic.

He ends up in a Camelot where his alternate self died almost a year ago.

Can he, Arthur and their friends still forge the golden age he was once promised, or will grief and suspicion tear them apart?

    Bookmarker's Notes

It's not a bad fic, but ultimately very predictable in plot, and especially the endgame and ending. It does have consistent characterizations though, and does make a case on emphasizing the differences between this 'world' and the BBC's 'world' and their characters.

I do like the creative usage of the three primary villians, but a more meaty background and expansion on their characterizations would've been nice (like what the TV series tried to do for the villians arcs) - rather than have the story told straight from the POV of either Merlin or Arthur.

    Summary

The life of General Kenobi is cut short at the hands of his Padawan, but the sight that greets his eyes upon awakening is not that of blinding light of the Force, but the Jedi Temple he knew when he was still a youth. As he struggles to understand the path laid out before him, Obi-Wan unwittingly captures the attention of a singularly unusual Temple Guard, and that of a reluctant Qui-Gon Jinn.

    Bookmarker's Notes

WIP. Time-traveling Obi-Wan, without the usual large overt changes that one expects a time-traveler to make. Starts quite slow. There's a lot of dry, philosophical introspection in the 'Grief' chapters, dealing with the grieving process that reads more like a therapy pamphlet than anything else. But, the pace picks up once the fic gets to the end of the Bandomeer mission.

    Currently on chapter 26.

    Summary

It wasn’t fair. Arthur was only supposed to be in Camelot for one week. A single week, while he solicited more grain for his starving village. That was it.

Instead, he managed to somehow save the life of a prattish prince and was now bound by the king to serve him.

And what was with the dragon in the dungeon, calling him the “Once and Future King?”

    Life, most definitely, wasn’t fair.

    Bookmarker's Notes

It's... extremely melodramatic - to a fault. Enough that I actually think it makes the story weaker, rather than stronger. The meandering arcs of the story are interspersed with some action, but there's a lot of fluff and introspection that could have been drastically cut down to make the story more digestible. I'm not really happy with the justification of Morgana's arc and why she does what she does - it's never fully explained, not like the TV show. E-rating is for that one chapter somewhere in the first few chapters when Gawaine shows up (author does inform you of it, and there's no plot involved in it, so it's perfectly skippable).
