Summary
It's been thousands of years since Elrond has last seen his parents, centuries more since he got to hold him in his arms, and yet on the boat to Aman, he is afraid. Of what--change, loneliness, leaving everything he has ever known, his parent's not knowing him, finally addressing the pain of everything he's been through--Elrond doesn't know. All that's for certain is that he's in a boat, and he is going to the golden shores of Valinor.

Summary
The day before their attack of Menegroth, Curufin is haunted by her thoughts on Finrod, her father and the notion of legacy. Once again she asks herself 'how to be remembered'. Now without her son and no further purpose than getting the silmarillion or dying, this question remains that the front of her mind. Himring is cold and the winds not only bring a detested chill, but also unwanted thoughts; Of Finrod, of her family, of her role as a woman and of herself.
No conclusion she comes to or decision reaffirmed will change anything in the grand scheme of fate and what is written down as history. The only thing that will shift is how easily she marches towards the end.Series

Summary
Winter Heliotropes have the symbolic meaning of "Justice shall be done to you" and while most can interpret it as wishing the recipient to have good things turn out for them after a lifetime of injustice, Idril sees it as a threat. The recipient will be judged by Mandos; the world will see what they have done--what he has done, or at least fantasized about. However, Mandos isn't in Gondolin nor talks to the exiles. As such, it is up to her to be it's enforcer.
Although Maeglin may not be alive to understand the message of the bouquet, it still rings true. Justice has been done to Maeglin, a type of justice that technically is not kinslaying due to Gondolin's legal definition of the crime. Yet, how did Idril get to this point? And how did she get away with it? Planning, planning and praying that Maeglin never gets the future he dreamed of.- Language:

Perhaps they were only created for and cared for by the Valar for the endless war between the gods high above them. Perhaps this is all Gil Galad has ever known; blood, fires, slaughter, the heaps of a thousand corpses whose singular cry is silenced like an avalanche, whose desperate grasp at ‘better’ is wrenched out of their frail fingers.
(Gil Galad is not hopeful, not faithful, nothing like the kings before him. But he is vengeful and that is the only tie between him and them and the High King Gil Galad and his reason for living)

Summary
Amathorn's life has always been full. As Gil-galad's chief guard since his childhood on the Isle of Balar there was no way for it not to be. He never found romantic love, and that never bothered him, he was busy.
When he feels the call West half a millennium after Gil-galad's death, he assumes this must mean that he is to be released from the Halls of Mandos and re-embodied soon, and goes to him gladly. This does not turn out to be the case however, and instead, he crosses paths with a beautiful Teleri artist.
Amathorn has lived for over four and a half thousand years. He has never felt like this before. Oh no.
Written for Aspec Arda Week, as a prologue to a yet to be published fic of Gil-galad's rebirth in Valinor. I'm hitting an elf OC with the gay demi hammer after 4.5K years. Enjoy!

Summary
Derek wakes up dead and dissected in a mortuary. A living corpse without any organs or any sort of explanation for why he's still alive. Haunted by the King in Yellow, the DMS, and thoughts of Avery's well-being, he stitches himself up and goes to get to the bottom of the situation with the unwanted passenger in his mind tagging along for the ride.
Avery keeps having recurring nightmares about something he's completely forgotten. All he wants to do is get answers without losing himself to the call of the water, promising him understanding if he would just sink into their depths and never wake up again. He doesn't understand why he's so paranoid about being seen but he has a few inklings on the connection between the gaps in his memory and the surveillance he's under. He intends to find out exactly what.
All Hastur wants is keep the both of them in Carcosa, as they should've been in the first place, had it not been for someone's interference in its affairs. It wants to know who was at fault. It wants to do whatever it can to retaliate for stealing what it was rightfully owed.
(tldr: Derek's a zombie, Avery doesn't remember, and Hastur already won.)
