Summary
Regina Mills is twenty-one, the concert master of the Boston Combined Youth Concert Band and on the path to law school, a good marriage and state senate – if her mother has anything to do with it, at least. Emma Swan is an ace trumpet player, working three jobs to stay afloat and not terribly impressed by Regina Mills’ cold and snooty attitude.

"The most annoying part was Emma showing up on the doorstep the next day and pulling the whole kiss-first-ask-questions-later trope.
But it feels silly to complain about that.
She should take that off the list."

Summary
“It’s a lot easier for me to keep my grip on you when I can actually feel your body.”
The phrase feel your body said in Kara’s voice rattles around in Lena’s head like a pinball machine, but she manages to shrug her sweater off and throw it somewhere behind them before she can second-guess herself. Kara is looking comfortable in a loose white t-shirt, and when she takes Lena by the waist and puts Lena’s hand on her shoulder the texture of it is light and soft.
“Let’s start from square one,” Kara says, so kindly that her next words take a few seconds to register in Lena’s brain. She tightens her grip on Lena’s waist, and says with full confidence:
“Dancing is a lot like sex.”
OR
Against her better judgement Lena agrees to compete on Dancing with the Stars for the PR boost. When her chemistry with her partner Kara gets misconstrued by the press, there’s obviously only one solution.

You’re a pain in my ass, Emma almost says, and thinks better of it. Of the two hundred or so days she’s to spend cooped up with Regina Mills, at least one or two might be spent civilly and conjointly ignoring each other.

Summary
“I was told a double rush order would be here in twenty minutes or less,” she said coolly, and gestured to the clock on the wall beside them.
Looking over, Emma saw the face reading 6:45, just a few minutes past the twenty minute deadline. Eyes narrowing slightly, she licked her lips. “Yeah, it’s just a couple minutes past,” Emma said, and shifted her weight to one hip.
Tilting her chin up slightly she repeated, “Twenty minutes or less,” and Emma felt her head start to pound. What a way to end the day.

“I’m here because... I think my kid is having some kind of delusional breakdown because he can’t cope with the fact that ... Mayor Mills and I split up.”
Dr. Hopper pushes his glasses up his nose in a measured movement. “What makes you think that?”
“Well, among other things, he thinks his mother is about to cut Mary Margaret Blanchard’s heart out of her chest, before pulverizing it and sending her into a coma that only her true love can rescue her from.”

Summary
Emma almost has everything. She's got a wonderful son, a beautiful, tender friend and co-parent, and a family she can count on. It was all she ever dreamed of, once upon a time. At times, she thinks she finally understands what authors mean when they end their story with: they lived happily ever after.
But the feeling always leaves her by the morning. Sometimes she thinks her real happy ending has disappeared somewhere in the past, somewhere in between the curses and forgotten memories. And now it is only a possibility lost to her memories.
If she could go back...

Summary
It's pure good fortune that leads Emma Swan to get a job at The Rabbit Hole, a specialist children's bookstore in New York City, on her very first day in the city. It's certainly not good fortune, however, that her path crosses with R. C. Mills, the reclusive author of the extremely popular 'Marisol Mendez' series. She can't stand the woman, even if Mulan reckons she spends far too much time talking about her for someone she claims to dislike so much.
