"She knew that just a few kilometres down the mountain, Godric’s Hollow was celebrating in all its hidden, hallowed glory. Just hours earlier, the war against Voldemort and his armies had, at last, come to an end. A ceremony had been held—broadcast across the Wizarding Wireless—where Dumbledore, the members of the Phoenix Order, and their finest generals were awarded some insignia or another. The surviving soldiers were already beginning preparations to return home.
She cared for none of it.
To her, it was all fumes, nothing more than smoke rising from a match she'd struck for the stove—soon to vanish, leaving only the cold behind.
She cared deeply for James Potter and longed to see him return, as she preferred him alive and well. Yet she held such contempt for the war and its leaders—both light and dark—that, for all she cared, they could burn in the fiery pits of Hades. Summary

But when she's captured and made prisoner at Malfoy Manor, of all the dark and evil ways she'd envisioned Malfoy would torture her, she never quite imagined anything this horrific.I just wanted to make it abundantly clear that I was originally inspired to write this fic after I read the masterpiece that is Manacled, so I would like to thank SenLinYu for her amazing work! The memory searching aspect of Manacled is what inspired me, and although I have adapted that, (and also made Draco head Death Eater, because... ya know... we all love it when he's Voldemort's right hand man 😅😉), Secrets and Masks will be a very very different fic all together.
