“The League won't let you compete,” he said, speaking to Zoro rather than the bartender. Zoro just stared at him, a bit shocked. Clearly this man knew his MMA, considering he knew Zoro on sight and also knew about Zoro's forced retirement.
“Who are you?” Zoro asked. The guy took a final drag on his cigarette before he put it out on an ashtray. Then he put his hand out for Zoro.
“Blackleg Sanji,” he said. Zoro was already shaking his hand but he stopped and looked at the man in surprise. Because he'd heard that name and now he realized why this man looked vaguely familiar. This was the man who took his place as MMA's favored rookie.
“I've heard of you,” Zoro said. They were both turned in their seats facing each other now. The bartender, sensing that he was being locked out of the conversation any further, walked away. Sanji smiled.
“Today must be my lucky day,” he said

The first time Zoro suspected Sanji was up to something was when he found an excuse to lose Zoro on a grocery run. Zoro had been trying to break away for several island stops grocery trips but the shit cook always found a way to hold onto Zoro, even in the heaviest of crowds. And then suddenly one day, he sent Zoro away, with a request to buy a specific item from a specific store. And because the island's layout was confusing and stupid, it took Zoro an hour and a half to make it back to the same place and there Sanji was, bitching about Zoro getting lost.
But he looked different. As Zoro walked around the Sunny’s deck that night, he realized that Sanji was sweating, on a relatively cool island, and was that lipstick? Just a tiny speck on the corner of Sanji’s mouth?
Zoro didn't care what the cook did but the fact was…interesting.
