Summary
Buck has had some revelations about his life while Eddie is in Texas. Mainly? He's in love with his best friend, he wants to be his husband and the father of his child, and... he's the stereotypical queer friend who falls in love with a straight guy. How awkward.
When Chris calls one day to tell him that Eddie disappeared while working as an Uber driver, he immediately flies to Texas to stay with him and, hopefully, help figure out what happened to his best friend.
Sam and Dean head to El Paso, Texas, to investigate a case linked to a series of disappearances they believe may be connected to the supernatural world. There, they meet Evan Buckley, a desperate firefighter from LA who just wants to find his partner.

“You said you talked to Hen about”—Ravi makes a vague, conjuring gesture, even though Eddie can’t see it—“all this yesterday, right? She dresses the best out of all of us. You should ask her for fashion advice.”
“I tried.” Eddie huffs. “She said, verbatim, ‘I’m not your gay Yoda.’”
With that, the fitting room stall’s lock finally clicks open, the door swinging open with a muted groan. Eddie steps out, arms spread wide. “Alright. What do we think?”
From an objective standpoint, he looks good. He looks really good. Objectively speaking.
From a subjective standpoint, he looks like someone Buck wants to pin against the nearest surface and fuck until they’re both stupid.
“Handsome, you are,” Buck croaks.

Abstract: In a longitudinal assessment of the Buckley variable’s impact on Dr. Diaz, we document a surprising decline in objectivity, an alarming spike in flustered rambling, and multiple methodological failures including—but not limited to—accidental staring, uncontrolled blushing, and an unprecedented disregard for professional boundaries. Despite repeated replication attempts, no reliable strategy for emotional neutrality was found. The data strongly support the hypothesis that Subject Buckley is hazardous to academic composure. Peer review pending. Further study (and possibly therapy) is recommended.

Summary
The moment Eddie put the truck in drive and drove away from South Bedford street, away from Buck, the anxiety started. He was going for Christopher, his son, his entire life, the reason why he woke up everyone morning and got out of bed. If he didn’t fix his relationship with Chris, he didn’t know what he was going to do. So he was leaving his entire life behind, more importantly, he was leaving Buck.

Summary
The idea comes to him on one of his drives through the mountains.
He’s driving up, and up, and up until the road has a steep, sheer drop on one side, and nobody’s driving alongside him. He’s headed to the top of a mountain. There’s a gravel pull-off right before a hairpin turn. The turn is protected by a flimsy guardrail.
Eddie parks on the pull-off and walks over to look past the guardrail.
Nothing underneath. Just dry underbrush. A shallow stream right at the bottom. Thin vegetation. If a car missed the curve at a fair speed, it would plummet down the cliff. Next to no chance of survival.
And Eddie’s known to drive, to clear his own head. He used to do it to find hiking trails for him and Buck, or roadside attractions or activities that Christopher might like. It’s a known hobby of his. He’s a good driver.
So it’s not convincing if he crashes in good weather. He’ll have to wait for a storm.
But it’ll work. It has to work.
(Or: Eddie and all the ways you shouldn't love your loved ones.)
