Dear whoever receives my letter,
When I was asked if I wanted to exchange letters with a complete stranger from Gillikin Country, I was quite excited. You see, whoever you are, I don’t have all that many friends. So, this seemed like a great opportunity.
Perhaps I should briefly introduce myself. My name is Elphaba, I’m 12 years old, and I live in Munchkinland. Before my sister was born, my family and I traveled through Quadling Country for a while, but I don’t remember all that much about it.
I have never been to Gillikin Country though. What is it like? Do you like living there?Personally, I’m not really a fan of Munchkinland. I have this image in my head that there is this place out there, somewhere in Oz, maybe even in Gillikin, where I’ll feel at home. But I haven’t lived anywhere else, so it’s not like I know.

Hi. My name’s Petra Parker, and for the last couple of months, I’ve been the one and only Spider-Woman.
Wasn’t always that way.But HRT is one hell of a drug… Anyways!
It’s been… a little bumpy. Trying to juggle high school, homework, being a superhero, and, you know, the whole ‘my body is actively going through several major changes at once’ thing. Who knew being trans and part spider would be such a pain in the ass? Actually, probably someone should’ve warned me about that. But hey. I’m getting the hang of it… Mostly.

Possibilities lined up before her. If she was a superhero, everyone would love her. She would have parades. She’d be powerful, perhaps more powerful than her parents. She couldn’t wait to tell everyone that she, Chloé Bourgeois, was a superhero!
Then she looked in the mirror.
Leather.
Chloé was wearing not only a full-body leather suit, but on top of that she wore leather gloves, boots and a belt. Leather-on-leather! An atrocity! Even worse, Chloé’s hair was pulled out of its neat ponytail, and had turned into a mess of curls. Chloé spent an hour every morning having her butler straighten her hair, she didn’t want it to revert to it’s natural curly state every time she transformed! The excessive leather did not even spare her head, giving her both leather ears and a leather mask that tinted her sclera blue.
If Chloé’s mother, the Queen of Fashion, ever saw this, Chloé knew exactly what she would say: “Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!”
So this is why superheros had secret identities.
