Summary
This is absolutely cliche to some degree but you are a friend of Tim and Brian, meeting them while filming Marble Hornets, even if you were the camera "guy". The entire Marble Hornets crew goes radio silent and missing, leaving you to pick at the scraps of relationships that you only had photos and memories to tell you were real. When you finally get home from Uni, expecting life to just go on without Brian or your little group to keep you company, you see that he's been spotted in a nearby diner, unaware how bad you want to kick his ass for leaving you with Tim and his emotional vulnerability of a radish. This will be set in New England area where Brian and the reader lived (I know he lived in Pennsylvania, we are going to ignore that for the sake of my plant knowledge)
Not as important but the reader is going to be a Bio major and likes land conservation, I honestly know the most about this topic since I wanted to dedicate my life to it before I went into Forensics and I plan on getting a second degree in the topic.

Hiccup couldn't do it. No matter how he looked at it, being chosen to kill the Nightmare as the victor of dragon training had backed him into a corner, and without either sacrificing Toothless or himself, he saw no possible way to change the minds of the Vikings of Berk. The moment he went out there, he'd either be killed by the dragon (since he knew he couldn't bring himself to kill it), or strung up and tortured, then either executed or shipped away as an outcast/possible slave for having gone 'mad' and 'betraying his people' to side with the dragons'.
It wasn't fair that the dragons were so misunderstood, and it was even worse that Vikings were as stubborn as they are...
So he saw no choice but to leave.
"Take me away from here bud. We can't stay any longer, and I already made up my decision. I can't risk losing you. We'll just have to... We'll just have to take on the Queen ourselves. And pray that Astrid doesn't tell my dad first, otherwise there's going to be a lot of bloodshed..."
Toothless only gave a small croon of empathy, before taking off into the night. Unaware of the journey about to take place.

Summary
Dragons have been a problem for centuries, before vikings even settled on Berk. Stealing food, burning homes, eating livestock, taking limbs and lives. Until suddenly, starting with the death of the Berkian chief's only son, the problem turns from a way of life to a race for survival. He holds the unique ability to communicate with dragons just as you and I are talking with each other.” He began to pace, slowly. “None have seen the face of the King of Dragons and lived to tell the tale. The King has been the scourge of the Great Beyond for years, cutting a path through everything that stands in his way. Some even say he is a god himself.”
(Hiccup disappeared before his final trial, and with him, the dragons of Berk. Peace has reigned for almost four years. But when a man from the Great Beyond brings a legend of the King of Dragons to Berk, Hiccup must return home to protect everything he tried so hard to leave behind).
