Jason rolls his eyes and gestures at him with the lug wrench. “Why don’t I just beat you up and steal your money? Is this the first time you’ve been to a bad part of town? Don’t show me your wallet, asshole. Come on.”
The man heaves a heavy, aggrieved sigh and starts pulling out bills. “Five hundred?” He tries. “Six? We can go to an ATM.”
“You are mugging yourself,” Jason says, oddly impressed. “Holy shit.”

Summary
“I never thought I'd see you at a place like this,” a voice says behind him.
Alfred doesn't jump, but he does turn quickly — so quickly, he sways forward and crowds the stranger. Or, well, not a stranger at all.
Gordon smiles, and it isn't anything like the one Alfred remembers, from almost an entire year ago. He looks older, perhaps because of the beard he seems to be growing, but something about him feels aged. Not like how leather breaks in comfortably after a while, but in the way wine gets richer and bitter when kept in the dark.
Speaking of wine, Alfred seems to have had too much of it tonight.
(Alfred navigates his new life with an orphaned Bruce Wayne — now if only he could stop running into Officer Gordon!)

Summary
"Let it be known that I completely detest the implications of what this situation is mirroring," Red Hood grumbles to himself and it's the longest string of words Duke has heard from any so-called Gotham vigilante, let alone the one who's known for shooting more than he is talking.
"The fuck?" Duke mutters, because if he's already going to die, he might as well try and make sense of it.
"I'm not going to care about whatever sob story you have," is what Red Hood replies with instead of explaining, "Where are your parents?"
"Gone," is all Duke says, because it's really none of this guy's business. It's also the truth.
Somehow, Red Hood sounds even more anguished about this information than Duke is, "Ah shit."
(Duke steals the tires off Red Hood's bike and somehow gains a family.)

Summary
Lost Days-era.
Jason's latest teacher is cruel man, but a boring one. There's no reason for Jason to expect that he will be any different from the rest—just another monster with a skillset that Jason wants to learn. He'll get what he needs and then take out the trash before he goes, as always.
It's all going according to plan until, very suddenly, it isn't.
