    “God, I really was hoping I would never have to have this talk with anyone, like ever. I had assumed that between being with your aunt and uncle for your pre-teen years and whatever your schools teach nowadays, I would be able to skip out on this incredibly awkward conversation, but it appears I’ve got to do it anyway.”

    “What?”

    “The safe sex talk, Pete. That what we’re apparently doing right now.” Mr. Stark says it so bluntly, like it’s both no big deal and an inconvenience all at once. Peter feels his stomach drop to his toes. He thinks that he’s somehow managed to both pale and blush at the same time, which really shouldn’t be possible. The hot panicky feeling makes a light sweat instantly bead over his skin.

    “Mr—Mr. Stark we… uh, we really don’t have to…” Peter starts, eyes firmly glued to the floor now as his face burns.

    “Well apparently we do, Kid.” Mr. Stark puts his hands up in a ‘what can you do’ kind of way. “Because I just got blood results back on you that are positive for HIV.”

    Tim snorted. “Oscar doesn’t go to Gotham Academy, he goes to Gotham University.”
