When he finishes the song, he blinks and looks up. Silence, no clapping, no throwing of coins. He feels his heart thump, looking around at the patrons. The entire tavern is dead asleep. Just…asleep. After his beautiful singing. A bard’s literal worst nightmare.
Jaskier spares one last glance at the sleeping tavern then books it for the stairs, boots thundering on the old wooden steps. After all, there’s only one plan to follow when strange things happen out on the road: make a run for it and find Geralt.
