The Netherbrain has been defeated, and all is right in the world.

But the idea of never seeing his best friend now that it's over is heartbreaking to the wizard, which is a perfectly platonic response to your friend potentially leaving you, Gale will have you know. Summary
"The rain is pouring down around Gale, trickling down his face and soaking him to the bone. But he’s numb to it all. He’s numb to the cold sinking into his skin, to the water streaming from his eyes, to the shaking of his limbs. Everything is foggy. He can’t hear Halsin beside him, accepting the condolences on his behalf. All he can see is the white coffin before him. And he is numb"

Summary
Well,” Astarion laughed, falling to his haunches so that his face was level with Gale’s, “no wonder she asked you to explode yourself. You must be absolutely pent up with sexual frustration that you’re fit to burst at any second.”

But now it’s gone. And he finds himself on a ship to Waterdeep with Astarion with nowhere to hide his feelings. And when it comes to the vampire, those feelings have been pent up for a while.

Summary
“Astarion?” Tav asks, tilting her head. “What is it?”
“The powder,” he says faintly. “It’s some sort of… pollen.”
“Pollen,” she repeats, her voice strangled. “I thought that was just a made up trope in terrible smut novels!”
Astarion’s face scrunches even further with distaste. “Apparently not.”In the Shadow-Cursed Lands, Gale gets hit with a strange powder. Astarion might be the only one capable of curing his affliction.

Instead, their written exchanges through margin notes and editorial comments evolve into genuine intellectual discourse and unexpected intimacy.
Reader beware: massive geeks perpetrating geekery until they finally manage to get it on. And then they are still geeks.
