    The morning of his fourth birthday Izuku woke up to a pop-up from his quirk telling him he had a quest to let no one know he had a quirk at all. When he failed the quest he reset back to when it was first given...but that wasn't his only quest.

    Some of the quests he was given might have seemed strangely useless at the time (why did Eraserhead need a cat?) but always turned out to be useful later on. (If only his quirk would stop trying to mess with his social life!)

    Follow along as his quirk forces him to change the future, one quest at a time.

    Mina waits until Aizawa’s well out of earshot before muttering a teasing, “Okay dad” under her breath. Kirishima’s eyes go wide. Midoriya chokes on air and the soap he’s spraying goes wide, hitting the wall as well as the stove. Kaminari freezes halfway through tiptoeing across the kitchen. They all stare at her, frightened for a moment that Aizawa heard her somehow. Then, when nothing happens after a moment, Kaminari cackles, loudly, and doubles over laughing.

    Shouta Aizawa was a lot of things, but underprepared was not one of them.

    Sure, he could be grumpy and cold - usually when bothered unnecessarily by his students or colleagues or when his access to coffee seemed to vanish and he was left to cope without caffeine fueling his every function.

    Sure, he could be a little soft, but only when knelt down in alleyways, opening small cans of cat food for the local stray population to have something safe to eat, or for his husband in the cozy, intimate confines of their home when he could bask in the knowledge of just being there and existing with his Sunshine.

    And sure, he could be a little pessimistic - or as he so adamantly referred to it: ‘Realistic’. It was his natural state of being to not hope for nor expect the best outcome, as nothing ever seemed to go right for him.

    But the one thing Shouta Aizawa never was, was unprepared.

    Shouta Aizawa gets turned into a cat by a stray quirk and has to figure out how to get back home while trying to protect the bullied quirkless kid he's totally not adopting.
