    Summary

    Series of all roughly set in the same universe, a couple will be mentioned in 'If i leave, somebody else will love you.' (or 'iilsewlu' because i am not typing all of that)

    These can be viewed as standalones but i would suggest reading them along with 'iilsewlu' if you plan to read it as it is the main story that inspired these.

    Newt loves his sister more than anyone else in the world and without any doubt or hesitance, he would trade her life for his own if he ever had to. Unortunately, this is not an option, and when Sonya is suddendly faced with an unknown disease and doctors who aren't able to help her, Newt finds himself lost in helplessness and tainted memories.

    Still, he knows that he will do everything in his power to help her. Any distractions are out of the question, which becomes a problem when Sonya's nurse, a cute brunet with a kind smile, happens to cross his path at the worst times.

    Sonya is in the hospital with an incurable disease and her nurse, Thomas, makes it really hard for Newt to keep on track with what's important right now. At least that's how he would phrase it.

    Your Soulmate's name appears on your wrist, and you keep it secret while you search for them. Newt's had to move to America because of his dad's new position and he joins the school band who are playing for the Drama department's latest show.
    Thomas is part of the choir and immediately captivates Newt's attention and affections.

    Too bad the name on his wrist isn't quite Thomas.

    (Changed to T simply for swearing and themes of hate/prejudice. This is fairly minimal, but the swearing is kind of frequent - a mark of their friendship. There is also mild innuendo here and there as the story goes on. Also some making out.)

    There's a rumour in the Glade: the Maze is haunted. Newt doesn't believe that ghosts are real. But on the day he finally decides to put his plan to commit suicide into action, he finds out that the ghost is real. And not only that, but he's not a ghost: he's a boy just like the Gladers, who has been living wild and free in the secret rooms of the Maze for two years now.

    But though Newt has never seen the ghost before, the ghost has seen him. And though Newt doesn't understand it, the ghost loves him already.

    “Well best hope he passes the dependency test.”

    “But the reason we ordered the less severe life threatening Malaria was because if he fails to seek help, he won’t die. That way he still suffers from the effects without disrupting the experiment or Phase 1 as a whole. You know what he’s like; he’s selfless, irrationally so. If Thomas dies then the rest of our work…”

    Or: Thomas doesn't know that Wicked have a separate test for him, which evolves around him being able to ask for help. If he fails, he will die. Will he reach out in time? Or suffer in silence?

    He wasn’t mute or anything. Well, mostly. He could talk, in theory. His mouth worked fine. He had a tongue.

    But words, in Newt’s experience, were dangerous. And when everyone started asking him how he was more often, after his parents divorce, and then after he broke his leg in a suicide attempt they had managed to cover up as an accident, Newt just decided to stop responding.

    Newt doesn’t talk to anyone much - he can manage a few words for his best friend, Minho, and sister, Sonya.

    He gets by in school and works part time in an icecream shop near his house.

    Then Thomas appears, and he’s just so easy to talk to. So easy to make out with, as well. He might be Newt’s favourite person.
