Gallagher said that the man called himself Boothill. He showed up in Dreamflux Reef almost two weeks ago in the middle of the night and has been here ever since. He hadn’t dared to ask the barkeep if he knew anything else, not wanting to be invasive. All he knows is that the man is a drunkard.
“Uugh… Howdy, stranger,” Boothill greeted him. His country accent made the slurring in his voice sound heavier. A small hiccup escapes him. “This yer doorstep? Mighty sorry ‘bout that. Didn’ mean t-”
Argenti interrupts him, taking the man’s right hand in his own. “Are you alright, sir?” he asks again.
Boothill stares at him like he just spoke in a completely different language, as if the question was foreign to him. The way he blinks at him is laggard, and the florist can’t help but grow even more worried about the person in front of him.
Argenti is a florist in a small town. Boothill is a troubled soul who finds comfort at the bottom of a bottle. By chance, or perhaps even by fate, Boothill happens to fall on the doorstep of the man who might be able to help him find joy in life again.
