Summary
When Crockett finds himself with a plate full of cocaine in his face, Tubbs insists on following him home. A few weeks later, after Tubbs is injected with tetrodotoxin, Crockett refuses to let him go home alone. On both occasions, Tubbs thinks about his growing feelings for his partner, and eventually decides he may as well say something about it.
(Technically a follow-up to Ashes in a Goldfish Bowl and Gas Station Confessional, but makes sense on its own, too!)

Summary
Something in Bato snapped, and before he could stop himself his arm was swinging out, catching the boy clean across the jaw. He panted, staring at Hakoda’s shocked face, then looked at his own fist in horror. He just punched the chief's kid. His dad was going to murder him, not to mention the rest of the tribe—
A sharp blow knocked him out of his horror, and he yelped, clutching at his bleeding nose.
“Wudja do that for?!” Bato demanded, pinching the bridge to stop the blood.
“Why did I do that? You hit me first!”
Bato stared. Hakoda didn’t seem at all sorry. Neither was Bato, honestly.
~
Or, when Bato is eleven he punches a boy. This inexplicably leads to one of the most important relationships of his life.
