The rain has made Leon's dirty blonde hair stick to his face. The look on his face… one of utter disgust and apathy. Chris can only see one eye, but there's not a hint of the man he loves. Leon's is holding onto the tree next to him, assessing the safest way down. He doesn't find one, and lets out the meanest growl Chris has ever heard from the alpha. Leon stalks off, looking every bit like the predator he is.
Chris's heart hammers wildly in his chest, and he knows that his scent is giving away just how terrified he is. He can't think of the last time he's been so scared.

Leon stepped out of his car and looked at his front door where the porch light was shining like a beacon in the dark, a sign that his husband was home and up waiting for him. The surge of love and affection that ran through him nearly made him stagger. He had missed Chris so much during his entire journey, never knowing if the kiss he gave him the day before when he and Piers went running off after another lead on a cure for was going to be their last.
