In Logan's universe, people are classified as either "little," "neutral," or "caregiver," with Logan falling unhappily into that third category. In Wade's universe, there's no such thing as classifications, and “a little” is just an adverb to him.
Until Logan interprets some of Wade's child-like quirks as signs that he's actually a little and starts mother-henning (mother-wolverining?) the crap out of him. Then it takes on a whole new meaning.
