“You think too much.” Kon says, because he sort of feels like he’s being examined under a microscope.
“Maybe you can help me with that. It’s like every time we're together, my thoughts turn to mush.” Tim laughs slightly, and his cheeks are flushed, much like when he’s in the middle of a gruelling tennis match.
His heart beats violently against his rib cage, begging to be let out and laid bare in front of Tim. Is it quick enough? Is it devoted enough to deserve his affections?
“Huh, every time I see you, my thoughts race a thousand miles an hour.”

Summary
Kon is struggling to keep his kryptonian quirks in his control. The unknown cause bringing him to Gotham. As Batman works to figure it out a cure he is stuck in city and worse, going to school there. At least it will only be for a few months max, then he's back to soaring around, seeing his friends, back to his normal life, and gone from this boring city. Besides he finds an interesting person to hang around while stuck here.
Tim is confused. The universe had to be messing with him. Because that was Kon. Standing in his classroom. Which no, absolutely not, it shouldn’t be. Kon was supposed to be going to his small town school in Smallville, and if for whatever reason he wasn’t there then he should be in Metropolis. Not Gotham, not at his school, and definitely not his class.

“My life,” Tim splayed his palm over his quivering chest. “I trade myself for him.”
“You?” The deity scoffed. “I demand an equal trade, mortal. Do you think that your life is equal to that of a Kryptonian? What miracle have you that would make you equal to the clone of Superman?”
Tim wanted to scream. He wanted to beat his fists bloody. He wanted Kon back and if he had to kill a god to do it then he would. He would do it gladly.
But he couldn't snap here. Not as close to this miracle as he was. He needed the deity and he needed this trade and that amounted to more than any of his trembling wants. “Ask anything of me,” he promised, gaze unfaltering beneath the deity’s judgment. “And I will deliver.”

In this world, Kon died and stayed dead. In this world, Tim loses his mind trying to get him back, and he ends up striking a deal with a deity who grants his desire. For a price. One that he doesn’t realize the true weight of until it’s too late.
