Summary
The rising sun finds Al-Haitham tucked into the crook of Kaveh’s neck. His pacifier presses between their chests, dislodged some time in the night, replaced by his own fingers. Kaveh frees the soother and slowly reaches behind him to set it aside, mindful of the sleeping boy in his arms.
It's the day after and Al-Haitham has a few things to explain. Kaveh takes it all in stride.

Summary
They had offered multiple times for Kaveh to stay behind. In Sumeru City, at the border to the desert, at the entrance to the base. He had turned them down every time. He couldn’t handle sitting to the side being useless. More useless than he already was. He had to do something.
Or; Alhaitham is kidnapped, restrained, and blindfolded for nearly two weeks. Kaveh comes to the rescue like the good roommate he is.

Summary
The noises are jarring. Has the lights in the Akademiya always been this bright?
Alhaitham can feel the noise of their murmurs starting to turn into white noise as he stood there frozen, his heart rate steadily rising.
There's too many people.
A mishap with the students lands Alhaitham with additional appendages. It was tolerable, until it wasn't.

Summary
He looks at his window. He sees a reflection of this man with soft hair, a sharp face and stiffness in his bones. He feels a dull ache at the place where his heart is. And so, on a moonless night, Al-Haitham begins to feel empty.
Kaveh says to him, "Are you even listening to me?", and Al-Haitham just stares at the bowl in his hands, wide-eyed and wondering how he lost track of day.
Kaveh says, "Hey, are you okay? You've been so lost the past few days. Is everything alright?". And Al-Haitham wordlessly steps back to his room, back to that dreadful window.

Al-Haitham goes through a long period of cloaked mental illness. As he heals, and as the threads of his pain unravel to those around him, he finds love. A story of hope against whatever mortal brains conjure up. please trust it is fun in some places I swear.
It gets much worse before it gets better, and mind the tags. I pour all my love into this work since it is similar to catharsis for me. I hope you enjoy, and feel better by the end.Bookmarked by alphabetblue
