Ryder takes the opportunity to close his eyes and lean back. He takes in the sound of his surroundings, he envelops himself in it.
Or, my interpretation of post-series of Ryder and Miriam as they navigate their new lives as parents and partners. Follows the Epilogue, with added context.

Summary
Georgiana Bartlett fell from a horse due to exhaustion and was unconscious for the following five days. Waking up, she realises she has seen her fate six years in the future from a past life-when she was playing a dating simulation game and the doomed villainous in it carried her identity. In each route of the game, she dies.
Georgiana now plots her life carefully to avoid her demise while simultaneously attempting not to upset whatever deity by being reckless and changing the overall plot line from the game she remembers. Her new goal: surviving past the age of eighteen years old.
Or, that "reincarnated into a villain" trope but what happens if the villain retains her personality and attempts to smartly avoid her demise without trying to get too involved with the rest of the main characters—but then, by some twisted fate, learns that life has other plans for her?

Summary
Hob, after reuniting with his mysterious Stranger, lived a wonderful life. That is, until he found out that his Stranger — Morpheus, Dream — wasn’t able to make it to their 1989 meeting due to his capture.
This caused a chain of events wherein Hob found himself embarking on a journey into shoddy fight clubs, then to his old and forgotten life as a mercenary, and finally, making his way — dangerous and terrifying — into the hearts of many occults.
All for, dare he say, love.
A study of heavy guilt, unresolved rage, and maybe a sprinkling of deep (unspoken) yearning. Hob-centric.

At this, her voice turns softer; the light in her eyes dim to give away to the normal amount of chocolate and galaxy she is used to presenting her corporeal being with. She shakes her head, "Not like this."
Or, Death gives Morpheus a boon — or is it a curse? Morpheus finds himself alive from The Fates' hands, but achingly human. There is a new Dream of the Endless. Hob Gadling, in the meantime, gets used to his new roommate.
