Summary
In a world where everyone lived because Powder listened to Vi, the Lanes are in the midst of a civil war between Vander's Firelights (although it’s mostly his kids running the show nowadays) and Silco. Sevika, Silco’s second, comes to The Last Drop with an offer. Silco is weakening and his control over the Lanes is faltering. Sevika is loyal but she’s not stupid and she wants to be on the winning side. Vi hasn’t seen Sevika up close since she was 15. Something about Sevika suggests she has just what Vi needs and Vi can't wait to have a taste.
