Summary
Sokka blinks. Why is Azula calling him in the middle of a weekday? “Hello?” he answers.
“You need to go to the hospital.”
Azula, the queen of without preamble. Sokka’s used it, but that doesn’t mean he’s not wary of it. “Why? What do you know that I don’t?”
She sniffs. It isn’t her usual sharp sniff of disdain. “I’m in Tokyo, and Mai and Ty Lee are in Beijing,” she explains.
Sokka’s stomach drops. Azula never gives context for her demands. “What happened?” he asks, dread clawing at the back of his throat.

Zuko has an accident, and Sokka’s the only person left in this perpetually rainy city who can help him recover.

Summary
Sokka stays at the palace to be Zuko's advisor. They're both oblivious fools. This fic describes the years after the war they waste before finally getting together. Heckin' slow burn. Azula's there too.
This is Part Two, but I made sure Part One isn't necessary to read. But if you'd like to see Sokka realize his attraction to Zuko and struggle to contain himself while Suki good-naturedly laughs her ass off (canon-compliant), then check it out! Also some of the stuff about tallness might make a bit more sense if you've read part one.

"Can you at least explain how we ended up in the Fire Nation after the war? Or why I’m teaching some kid to throw a boomerang? Or why Zuko was holding my hand?" That last one tastes sour in his mouth. He’s about to fire off a few more, but Katara stops him.
“No, Sokka. That’s what I’m saying. That’s exactly what we can’t do.”
“Well why don’t you just waterbend heal me? Swish swash, two minutes, all better!” he proposes.
“Sokka, I just told you we can’t rush this. Do you want me to mess up your head?”
“Well you’ve never had any problem hitting me in the head with water before now!"
After waking up from a training accident with no memory of the past seven years, Sokka is desperate for answers. But any wrongly triggered memory could risk permanent brain injury. No one will answer his questions about his new life. No one will talk about whatever weird thing is going on between him and Zuko.
Luckily Sokka is the greatest detective and most brilliant mind of his generation (according to himself).
