Claude paused his nightly combing of Byleth’s hair and caught their eyes in the mirror. Even with the evening breeze, the Brigid air hung heavy with moisture, and Byleth, unused to the wet summer heat, was damp with sweat.
“Like what?” Claude asked, grabbing a hair tie.
“I’m not sure.” Byleth tapped their fingers in time to the laugh-like chirp of a gecko on the windowsill. “Perhaps an apology gift?”
Their proposal was agreeable. Logically sound, even. But the logistics were an entirely different matter.
The joint rulers of Fodlan and Almyra attempt to find a new gift in time for their dear friend's coronation.
