    Summary

“It’s a little difficult to think clearly with a knife pressed to his jugular, but Neil manages to wonder if he should’ve let the FBI send him to jail instead of here.

It makes sense, unfortunately, that after finding Neil bruised, burnt, and bleeding out on the cold cement floor of his father’s basement, Special Agent Todd Browning might have had some concerns for Neil’s health.

Neil just didn’t expect that concern to include his mental health, too.

Browning had offered Neil a choice that day - after listing out, like, fifty reasons why he thought Neil might benefit from some therapy.

Life in prison or a sixty day stay in a psych ward, followed by freedom.

Neil thought the answer was obvious, but his new roommate still hasn’t removed his blade from Neil’s throat - which Neil is now realizing isn’t actually a knife, but a razor blade taped to the butt of a toothbrush - so he’s rethinking that answer a bit.”

    Summary

“I’m not that boring, am I?”

Ouma laughed softly, letting his hair rest on his chest. “Boring? Nah. You wouldn’t be my favorite if you were.”

    “ Your favorite? ”

“Don’t take it to heart, but your fellow professors are kind of… dull.”

Saihara cocked a brow but let him continue.

“But you? I can tell you’re a passionate kind of man… You still have some spark in that heart of yours.”

    Or

Ouma’s unhealthy obsession with his criminal psychology professor is more reciprocated than he thinks.

    Summary

Rising illness throughout Camp Half-Blood has left the demigods living there worried, especially when there were no answers from their godly parents. It only gets worse when the powers of the children of Apollo can't heal those sick. Despite tradition and warnings from Chiron and Mr. D, Andrew Minyard sets off alone on a quest to retrieve Apollo's golden bow.

Or, he would've been alone, if it hadn't been for a mortal that can see through the mist.

    Summary

Neil swallowed tightly. ‘I think I tried to kill myself last night.’
Bee’s pause lasted a second longer than it should’ve, her surprise a heavy thing between them, but then she asked, ‘Can you elaborate on what you mean by “I think”?’
‘I mean that I don’t remember,’ he repeated, articulating each syllable. ‘I don’t remember what caused it. I don’t remember why I felt the urge. I only realised what I was doing after Andrew tackled me and pinned my wrists so I couldn’t grab the knife. I don’t remember, but I have to.’

When Neil starts having vivid flashbacks of his time at the Nest during Christmas Break, Andrew urges him to talk to Bee about it. Turns out, his trauma isn't as easily repressed as he thought it would be—and the memories he'd managed to forget will find their way to the surface, whether he wants them to or not.

    Summary

Nicky's bringing his fiancé, which means Luther is gonna make the day hell for him. Again.

Not that Andrew cares. If Andrew cared, he'd bring someone even worse to take attention off his cousin. But he doesn't.

He has, however, been looking for a reason to talk to his definitely-criminal neighbor...

And really, what better opening line than to invite him to a family funeral?

Or: Some guy died, and the Hemmicks are holding the memorial. Nicky's bringing Erik, and Andrew needs someone to distract a small army of conservative Christians from hurting his cousin even more than they already have. The neighbor he's never talked to before seems like a reasonable choice.
