    Summary

They were quiet for a long moment, two birds nesting on a rooftop under the haze of the Gotham fog.

“You’ll catch me?” Robin whispered, words almost lost to the night air.

Robin watched him in a way that was different to the circus, different to Batman, different to the people he saved. He watched and he mimicked and he looked up to Nightwing in a way that made it all feel worth it.

     “Every time,” Nightwing promised.

    .

Dick Grayson was eighteen when he got a baby brother.

He was twenty-one when he lost him.

(He is twenty-five when he gets him back)

    Summary

“How long has it been?” at the sound of Nico’s raspy voice Will looks up from a notebook laying next to his plate, finding dark eyes shaded with worry that others probably wouldn’t notice. It takes a moment to place a sudden question in context and oh, he doesn’t like it. Nico is asking about Jason.

It became a tradition for them to have meals together. Without a set time, without a set date. They just happen when they happen. Most of the time they have lunch or dinner together in the little family diner a bit off campus. Jason usually finds them there when he can, always a bit later, striding into the diner in his well-worn and well-loved leather jacket.

    ...

They’ve become friends over those shared meals. It’s nice.

When was the last time they’ve seen him?

    Summary

Percy had, briefly, entertained a fantasy of a triumphant return to Gotham. He’d get a blessing for the Waynes and finally prove he wasn’t fucking crazy, and come home to Jason and get to know Dick and get a chance to try again and, and, and—

    And Jason Todd is dead.

Years later, adrift after Tartarus, Percy finds himself pushed back to the city he once called home. All he has to do is keep his head down. This is obviously a flawless plan.

    Summary

“Oh,” the kid says, head turning to look back at the bathroom. “It’s fine. I’ve got it figured out.”

Dick’s face pulls to a pinched expression, shaking his head slowly. “As much as I’d love to believe you, I can’t. That stuff can’t just be emptied down the drain.”

The kid’s own face scrunches this time. “Why not?”

Jason has a feeling this kid doesn’t remember quite as much of his experience in the pit as Jason did himself. With a sudden jolt, Jason realizes this kid might not know he’s dead.

    Great.
