Summary
Beomgyu has always thought Yeonjun is beautiful, at any time in any place in any version of himself, but he thinks he is especially beautiful when he’s in water. There’s the aesthetic appeal of it all, of course – the way water slides down the planes of his body towards the edges of his swim trunks has heat creeping up Beomgyu’s neck towards his face – but more than that it’s the way Yeonjun seems to settle the second his feet hit the ocean, the second he’s embraced by the waves. As much as they both have a complicated relationship with their hometown, especially now that their relationship has become a bit of an open secret, they can both admit that they miss this when they’re away – the people might bring judgement but the ocean has only ever welcomed them with open arms.

Summary
They both turn away from each other, and no more words are spoken as the sun creeps steadily over the horizon line. The sky fades slowly from a riot of color into whirls of pastel and the breeze turns warmer as Kai breathes salt into her lungs. She doesn’t think she’s felt this peaceful in ages, and when she finally puts brush to canvas her fingers move far more steadily than usual.
Taehyun’s presence at her side is grounding, even though they are content to exist in their own bubbles. Every time Kai glances over at Taehyun her eyes are fixed firmly on the sunrise, a slight peaceful upturn to her lips. There is a part of Kai that aches to abandon her painting of the sunrise and paint Taehyun instead, to paint the soft slope of her features in the rosy sunlight, silhouetted against the lighthouse in the background. It’s almost like seeing double – the lighthouse standing firm in the background with Taehyun, its loyal keeper, in front of it. They reflect each other in some sort of inexplicable way, and Kai remembers what Taehyun had said about viewing the lighthouse as an extension of herself. She sees it here, in the soft and magical light of the morning, and she longs to capture it on canvas.

Summary
He glances between Yeonjun and the crowd, and feels his heart swell impossibly large in his chest. He often spends sleepless nights tracing waterstains on his ceiling and marveling at just how many things had to fit into place for him to end up where he is. Sometimes it’s a melancholy thought, when the days are long and the nights are longer, burnout wrapping its fingers around his ribcage and squeezing. But more often than not, it’s a soft wondering, a fascination with just how many things had to go right for Beomgyu to be surrounded by the life he never thought he’d get.
Beomgyu has a life and a love that he used to only dream of, when he would watch the sorts of dramas that he’s meant to be emulating today, fantasizing about someday having a relationship that might echo what he saw as the epitome of romance. And while he’s learned over the years that life is rarely like the dramas, he has been lucky enough to find a love that exceeds even his wildest dreams – one that’s worthy of all the tropes of a drama and then some.

Summary
Yeonjun's heart skips a phantom beat in his chest. What cruel justice fate has cursed him with, to have denied to turn Beomgyu only hours before, only to be faced with the choice between that or death now. He feels completely helpless, knowing how painful the transformation would be, since Beomgyu had been almost killed by a vampire that wasn't Yeonjun - his prospective sire. It would be hellish, and Yeonjun isn't sure he has it in him to inflict that pain upon the man he loves. But what other choice does he have? Could he really sit here and watch Beomgyu die knowing he could save him?
Beomgyu's eyes shutter open, and Yeonjun gasps. "Do it," he says through cracked lips, voice hoarse and trembling. "Don't let me die. Turn me, like I've wanted you to." Tears slide down Yeonjun's cheeks as Beomgyu's eyes close again, and his breathing grows even more shallow. "I want eternity with you," Beomgyu adds in a whisper, eyes still closed. "I don't care how much it hurts."

Summary
Beomgyu's voice continues to dominate the conversation, the other three members unwilling to even try and speak over him, until the timer dings and Soobin takes off the blindfold. When he passes it to Beomgyu he makes a show of tossing it from hand to hand so that Beomgyu has to reach for it, and they're both still giggling when they take their seats. It only serves to make Yeonjun feel even more helpless, tired and aching and glad that no one commented on the way his heart rate spiked when Soobin and Beomgyu's fingers brushed when the blindfold changed hands. It's petty, and ridiculous, since Beomgyu and Yeonjun have each other's hearts and minds and pieces of each other's souls, but Yeonjun is exhausted and his head hurts and the walls are still closing in on him, and he can't help but fall prey to petty jealousy sometimes.

Summary

“No,” Minho sighs, regretting what he's about to reveal before he’s even revealed it, but he knows it has to get to his little gaggle of gays sooner rather than later. “We’re just sleeping together.”
Felix nearly spits out his water. “What?!” he yells as best he can through his coughing fit. “And the world didn’t implode?”
“Like not just in the same bed?” Hyunjin chirps in, eyes wide. “Like dicks in ass and everything?” Minho just sighs again and looks up at the ceiling. Maybe he should have just kept this in forever.
“Well I guess we know what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object,” Seungmin deadpans, sliding over on his wheelie chair before stopping perfectly in the center of the doorway. “They fuck.”
(OR: Minho and Jisung have slept with everyone except each other. Until that changes. No feelings attached, of course.)

Seungmin speaks up this time. “It’s already hard for Minho,” he acknowledges. “Satisfying five vampires, plus a baby.”
“It’s true,” Chan muses, tipping Minho’s chin up to examine him. He’s probably a little peaky, and he’s sure his undereye bags are prominent. He’s adapted to sleeping during the day, though probably not as much as he needs. He’s hungry a lot, despite the bounty of food—Seungmin says that having blood drained takes a lot of a human’s energy, so he’s probably quite a bit thinner than he ought to be.
“We could… get another human?” Hyunjin spitballs, though he says it uncertainly.
“Just—where do we find a human?”
Minho blinks, pensive but also going foggy from Chan’s affections. “Put out an ad?” he suggests.
