Rosinante didn’t remember a lot of what happened. One moment, he had been driving, perfectly peaceful on the backroads on his way home, and then what seemed like seconds later he was surrounded by flashing lights, far too many loud sounds and cold. It felt like every inch of his body hurt, and when he opened his eyes, everything was blurry and dark. Which was weird for two reasons—one, he did not remember closing his eyes and two, he was pretty sure it was the middle of the day.
