Summary
“What are you talking about?” Grace's fingers played quick chords as he spoke. He didn’t even look as he did it, but it did not make them any less purposeful.
“Discussing possible reasons why Tau Ceti is not infected while other stars are,” Eva replied deftly. “I would invite you to join, but we were just finishing—”
“Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.

Summary
“Do you have somewhere to go?”
Regulus looked down at the locket resting on the table like a loaded gun.
“No,” he said softly. “Not anymore.”
Petunia stood and moved to the sink, rinsing dishes that didn’t need rinsing. She kept her back to him.
“You can stay until you’ve healed,” she said. “But then you have to leave. I won’t get tangled in your war.”“I understand.”
She turned. “I mean it.”
“I know,” he said, with a sad, almost fond smile. “You’re very good at meaning things.”
She didn’t return the smile. But her voice was quieter when she spoke again.
“My sister made the flowers bloom once, when we were little. I remember thinking it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.”
“And now?”
Petunia looked at the vase again. The air felt heavier somehow, but softer too.
“Now I know they die anyway.”

i love this. it's so good. like. so fucking good. like. wake me up in the middle of the night for this fic-good.
the relationships feel so realistic and are all so well developed and feel so understandable and balanced and it's just really great! the writing style is also great, it feels really personal and that works really well for this imo and the ending is nothing short of perfect tbh. will reread at some point!

Summary
A string, by itself, could snap at the slightest tug. A rope, composed of a couple strings, could be broken with a bit more force.
A net – an intertwined mess of dozens of ropes each pulling and twisting in its own direction, until in order to break a single line one must overcome the power of several more – is where it starts to get complicated.
Or, alternatively: against his will, Aether becomes a little more familiar with the idea of restriction.

love this so much!! style is great, especially the imagery is very vivid and everything just feels so tied together yet open ended and like. PERFECTION. idk how to explain it but it's just really great.
