No child should be so silent, not one as broken and bruised and damaged as Harry is. The boy can barely stay on his feet, is swaying to and fro while he tries to grip his wand, broken fingers and too much blood making it slip from his grasp. Normal boys cry out in pain, Voldemort had always expected Harry to be one of them. He thought he would grovel and scream like the rest, instead he is met with harsh breaths and silent terror, but it is the resignation that pulls at something deep within his soul. It drags him closer to the wreck of a child, past the shattered bones and blood slick floor, it makes him hesitate. One moment of doubt, one second of pity is all it took to change everything.

He had spent weeks planning this, thinking through all of the options and coming up with only one outcome. It was the obvious solution, even if it was an unwelcome one. Hamish was lonely. He had no friends and no siblings to keep him entertained. He was miles ahead of the children in his so called 'gifted' school, he needed someone who could keep up with him. Sherlock was all too familiar with that problem. If this worked then Hamish would have a friend and so would Arabella, he knew she was just as bored and alone as Hamish was. This was for the good of their children, they could put past differences aside and who knows, maybe Sherlock could make a friend too.

The fight was hard and bloody and they were lucky they made it out at all. Somehow Derek found himself paired with Stiles, following the motor mouth home and making sure he was okay. It was the Dom in him, he had to be sure Stiles was safe even if they were nothing more than friends. Derek had a type and lanky doe eyed, mole splattered teenagers seemed to be it. Derek desperately wanted a certain mole splattered teenager to be his sub, but Stiles wasn't into the scene. He had never seen him in any of the clubs or heard any of his friends mention it. Of course, he could be wrong, after all Stiles couldn't be in sub-space if he wasn't a sub right?

Jim wrote a romance novel just to prove he could. Then someone leaked it on the public Starfleet server, and suddenly his embarrassingly smutty and sentimental Human/Vulcan love story is all over campus. Luckily for Jim, no one knows that he’s the author. Unluckily for Jim, someone forwarded the novel to the staff of the Vulcan embassy. Now, every Vulcan in San Francisco is reassessing the logical merits of taking Human bondmates.
Spock reads a Human/Vulcan romance novel because he can hardly avoid it. Suddenly, he is consumed by the need to locate the author, ascertain their wellbeing, and instruct them in the way of Vulcan mating bonds. Luckily for Spock, it doesn't take long to identify the author as Jim Kirk. Unluckily for Spock, Jim is unconscious and surrounded by interested Vulcans who also read the book.
