Summary
Harry Hook has been in Auradon a little while now, and he's still trying to find his place in such a different environment from what he grew up in. King Ben thinks maybe he can help, but he's also feeling the weight of carrying a kingdom on his shoulders, and Harry brings an element of fun to his life. It doesn't hurt that he's the sexiest thing Ben has ever seen, and Harry likes the way Ben blushes when he smirks at him...
POV alternates mostly between Harry and Ben, with a bit of Mal thrown in towards the beginning. The explicit rating only applies to the main pairing of Harry/Ben.
Note that the Archive warning for violence is a precaution for towards the end, and it's more descriptions of injuries than outright violence.I love love love love this pairing, and am so desperately proud of this work. I know Ben and Harry are a popular ship in this fandom, but I enjoyed giving them more depth than I even meant to when I started this story. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all!

“Oh, wow, yeah, see, this is way better,” Wei Wuxian says. “Jiang Cheng, here, c’mon—”
Jiang Cheng makes a confused noise, then squawks and drops his weight unhelpfully as Wei Wuxian tries to haul him forward by his grasp on Jiang Cheng’s bloodstained belt. “What? No! Are you crazy? I’m not sleeping with Lan Wangji!”
Lan Zhan, who had been striding across the clearing toward them, robes a-swirl, pulls up abruptly like he’s run into an invisible wall.

It’s Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji, rather than Jin Zixuan, who arrive at Qiongqi Pass as Jin Zixun is attacking Wei Wuxian. This turns out significantly better than it does in canon!
Unfortunately, during the attack, Jiang Cheng is hit with a curse that can only be healed with magic qi-transferring sex. And since Wei Wuxian, secretly coreless, can’t do it, he’ll just have to persuade Lan Wangji to step up instead.

Tina burst into another fit of laughter at, presumably, Todd’s expense. “It’s so funny though!” She protested.
“I don’t care, stop it! Stop, like, dropping hints, or whatever you were doing back there, I don’t want her to know!”
“Tell her yourself then!”
“Wha- How? What do you want me to say? Good morning Amanda, how did you sleep, what are you having for breakfast, oh, by the way, I had sex with Cross!”
Dirk felt his eyes widen, and he stepped out before he could stop himself.
“You had sex with Cross?”

Todd makes a mistake one night that, for once, does not involve Dirk.
Dirk is extremely curious. Naturally.

It happened casually after that, so casually it almost didn’t register at first. El laughed at something Lucas said, then turned toward Mike and leaned in, instinctively, easily, pressing a kiss to his lips like it was the most logical way to say good morning to him.
