Summary
Ten years ago, the castle to the north of the tiny French village of Tadfield (the name being translated from the French, of course) was cursed. These days, it's allegedly inhabited by a fearsome beast. Crowley is not interested in this. He only wants to take care of Warlock Dowling, his nannying charge, and avoid the attentions of Lucifer, local spy-for-hire. The universe has other plans, though. When Warlock's future is threatened and he runs away, Crowley must allow himself to be trapped with the beast in the castle to save him. The beast is not what he would have expected, though: Anxious, kind, and shy, not to mention extremely sexy. Can Crowley escape? Will he want to? Can he keep his heart intact if he does?

Apteros: (adj., Ancient Greek: ἄπτερος) wingless. Sometimes used as a descriptor for Nike, the goddess of victory, in her role as an aspect of Athena, the patron goddess of the city of Athens. Known as Athena Apteros or Nike Apteros, she was depicted without wings so that Victory would never be able to leave the city.
All myths have their roots in stories that are true. The myth of the founding of the city of Athens is no exception. But all stories have their darker side.
(Or, Crowley and Aziraphale in Athens, from antiquity to the 1800's to the present.)

The backup is "complete" as of 18 November 2023, however the tracking of metas is continuing. Incorporation / updates will come first to the Google Doc, and then the updates posted in the relevant chapter here.
This is not my individual work. It points to over 100 fans contributions to understanding the layered meanings in the book and show.
I'm happy to add contributors as co-creators, add links to your AO3 work, or other recognition as you wish. I'm not entirely sure where to find Tumblrs on AO3, but will be working to add those links where they are clear.
