Summary
Trinity Santos knows how to fight. She knows how to fight with her words–acerbic exegesis disguised as something lighter, something that takes a second or two before the burning really begins to sink in. She knows how to fight with her body, the exact shapes to make to cause maximum impact. And when, exactly, it’s appropriate to embody herself so wholly that she becomes only her body. She knows how to fight with silence so cold that she herself is scolded by the ice, left scarred and shivering. And she knows how to fight by running–her absence the final blow, any and all closure absconded alongside her ghost. So really, fighting is what she does best. She’s been doing it her whole life. Bruised knuckles, bruised heart, bruised soul. She’s been doing it her whole damn life–but she cannot seem to win the battle against one Yolanda Garcia.

Summary
It was casual. Extremely casual, Trinity didn’t want anything more but why did it hurt so bad that Garcia didn’t either?
tried my hand at my own version of the post casual conversation scene, title from the L word theme tune of course.

Summary
“Are you two, um, dating?” Javadi’s eyes were wide, glancing between Trinity and Whitaker.
“What?” She stared at Javadi, trying to figure out if maybe the other woman had finally grown a backbone and decided to start fucking with Trinity.
“Well, the two of you always come in together and you leave together and you bicker all the time…” Javadi trailed off, glancing between them.
Unable to stop herself, Trinity began laughing. Cackling, really. A loud, snorting laugh that she hadn’t heard from herself in ages.
“It’s not that funny,” Whitaker said with a long-suffering look on his sad little face.
“I’m a lesbian, crash. That’s why it’s funny. He’s my roommate. My very platonic roommate.”
“You haven’t noticed her whole thing with Doctor Garcia?” Whitaker said, clear retribution for Trinity’s laughing spell. “Everyone’s been talking about it.”

Summary
The text had come around eleven while Trinity was sprawled on top of her bed in front of the oscillating fan, which was spreading the sticky-cold air coming in from her window unit currently fighting for its life, laptop beside her while she finally, finally, got caught up on Love Island after dodging spoilers for days.
ac’s broken at my place
That was it. After ten days without talking outside of a trauma room, Trinity should’ve ignored it. She should’ve kept her attention trained on the bikini-clad woman crying onscreen because her closest friend in the villa had, correctly in Trinity’s opinion, pointed out that she was in a situationship.
But instead, Trinity just felt like the events onscreen were a cruel mirror turned toward her own circumstances as she picked up her phone to respond.
