Summary
“If you’re interested, the shade is 644 Sydney,” Klavier told him, probably just to make conversation. Apollo didn’t tell him that he’d known it was between 644 Sydney and 720 Icone. He didn’t tell him that he’d been driven to the brink of insanity and made the awful mistake of researching Dior the first time he’d seen the case in Klavier’s hand. He didn’t tell him that at this point it was an obsession, and treating every new shade like an investigation was the only way for him to keep his head on straight.
In fact, he didn’t tell him anything at all.
So Klavier kept wearing lipstick and Apollo kept thinking about it. He’d scroll through the catalogue of products and organize them by color and finish while his mind wandered to what they felt like. Would Klavier’s lips feel different against his own with a velvet finish versus a satiny one? Would they feel all that different bare? Which kind of lipstick would stain his skin the most as Klavier kissed his neck? How many kisses would it take to ruin the most long-lasting, kind?
He closed his laptop. This had to stop."
Or, Klavier gets into the habit of wearing lipstick every day and Apollo is really normal about it

Summary
“What, are you worried about lil ole me?” He teased with that smirk that usually had her itching to punch him in the gut and kiss him at the same time. Right now, though, it only doubled her anxiety. It was lopsided in a way that wasn’t playful, and his eyes were unfocused behind the squint of his smile.
“A little, yeah,” she admitted, perhaps a little too easily. Vash blinked at her for a moment, then reached for the back of his head with that sheepish grin he always wore when he was shown some small kindness.
She expected him to brush her off, tell her she didn’t need to concern herself with him, or worse, apologize for making her worry- but he did none of that. Instead, his smile curled into a grimace and he flinched away from his own touch. He dropped his hand and his smile returned as he said something to Meryl but she wasn’t listening.
Because his hand was smeared with blood."
Or, Vash gets bonked on the head, Meryl freaks out, and they have a difficult conversation about how much they mean to each other.

Summary
"Miles gritted his teeth, glaring at the expectant furrow in Wright’s stupid eyebrows. “I‘ll simply contact Gumshoe and let him know I need a ride to the hospital.”
Wright rolled his eyes. “Yeah, no, we’re not roping Gumshoe into this. It’s like a ten minute walk to Hotti Clinic from here, I can manage.”
Miles was still deciding on what to protest- the fact that Wright intended to carry him down the road in full view of the public, or the fact that the absolutely wretched destination was Hotti Clinic- when all of his cognitive thought ceased to be as he was lifted into the air."
Or, Edgeworth can't stop noticing how strong Phoenix is which opens up a whole new reason to fall in love with him all over again.

Summary
“Ach, what time do you wake up anyway?” He asked, tone close to casual, but the way he was watching Apollo from behind his practically untouched wine glass was most certainly not. Apollo would’ve realized it then if it hadn’t been a Friday night with the entire town crowded into the saloon. He really would’ve, trust. But alas, with half a bottle (that he was supposed to be sharing with Klavier, mind you) in his system, there was no helping his critical thinking skills.
“Eh, I’m up around 5:30. Get started with chores at 6:00,” he answered thoughtlessly. Klavier made a face, which would’ve been strange at any other time, but Apollo failed to think of it as anything other than adorable.
“Gott, that early?” He huffed, apparently disgruntled by his tendency to rise before the sun.
“Well, the farm is getting bigger,” he defended with a tipsy little smile. “Just be glad you’re not the one dealing with hungry chickens first thing in the morning.”
Oh sweet, sweet irony."
Or, Klavier decides to surprise Apollo by doing his morning chores for him and Apollo goes a little bit insane. (The return of the stardew valley au nobody gives a gaf about)

Summary
The first person who’d started the trend was actually Miss Luida herself. When Meryl and Milly were interviewing her about the ongoing Noman recovery efforts, the topic of the Humanoid Typhoon had come up—and as smoothly as any other slimy, skilled politician constantly bathing in the public’s critical eye, Luida had hummed thoughtfully to herself, before lying straight through her teeth.
“Oh, Vash the Stampede?” Luida had said, never missing a beat. “Ahh. Yes. After everything, I heard he went bald from the stress. When do you suppose they’ll update his bounty poster?”
—And then she’d winked when Milly’s giggles made the camera move off of her face, and Meryl had smiled like she’d just found a nugget of pure gold in a pile of tomas shit.

Summary
“Should I guess? Would it make you feel worse if I guessed?”
“I wouldn’t stop you from guessing,” Vash says. Meryl’s lower lip juts out, but she doesn’t complain again, merely continuing to squint at Vash’s face.
“...Are you unhappy about him knowing at all?” Meryl asks. “I guess you don’t really talk about yourself. When it comes to your brother and your past…” She trails off, but then gives a quick shake of her head. “You agreed to the broadcast, though, so I don’t—”
There, Meryl stops abruptly. Vash hadn’t actually had any corrections, so he’s not quite sure what Meryl is thinking, or why her eyes have widened. They’re almost panicked when they settle back on him again, a dramatic contrast from the glimmer of excitement that’d been shining in them before.
“You didn’t agree,” Meryl says.
---
Meryl happens upon a past discomfort of Vash's, prompting a conversation about how he processes his anger, or the lack thereof.

Summary
It only occurs to her as she’s straightening up, Millie’s red tie hanging from her hand, that Vash really hasn’t left. When she turns around, their eyes meet; Vash had been staring at her. His glasses are off, hanging from his collar, revealing stark, electric blue. Meryl hadn’t forgotten the colour—could never forget anything about Vash, no matter how hard she’d wanted to try at one point—but they’re still so breathtaking in person.
Meryl swallows. “You’re still here.”
“Well, I like you,” Vash responds. “And you’re not filming me, so I’m not sure why I’d leave.”
“That’s how it is, huh?” Meryl smiles.
---
When Meryl and Vash finally get a moment alone after all is said and done, Vash gives her something that he's been meaning to give her for years.
