Summary

Steve glanced at Eddie, who was now reading his cup in amusement. As he saw Steve’s curious glance, he turned the coffee around, putting Steve’s handwriting into view.
Steve almost died on the spot. Right there, in Steve’s loopy handwriting, was the word ‘trouble.’
Eddie laughed, raising an eyebrow. "Guess I’ll make sure to bring trouble back around.”
Steve knew at that moment he had stirred up more than sugar in Eddie’s cup. -

"C'mon now, Eddie. I know you love it. Love the game we have going on." Steve spit the blood pooling in his mouth to the side of them. "You wouldn't find me interesting if you didn't love it. You wouldn't keep me around."
Something dark sparked in Eddie's eyes; his grip tightened, but not enough to hurt Steve. Eddie never hurt Steve. "I don't want to see you hurt, Angel. I think you're not getting the real reason I keep you around."
