Summary
A short time after the argument that concluded the quest for the golden dragon, while searching for a muse, Jaskier’s path entwines with Geralt’s once more. What ensues includes an apology, an abandoned hut, a shared bed, too many cockatrices, and a mysterious pellar in the woods. Along the way, Jaskier realises that there is something that grows gradually between them. It can be found in a soft smile, caught in a wandering gaze, and occasionally reveals itself from the corner of an eye when it believes the other is not looking.

The horrible panic from before turns into numbness. Three times. Astarion just tried to lie to Wyll three times and each time, he said something stupider than the last. Alarm bells have been ringing in his head and they are hard to ignore now.
After two centuries of torture, agony, and suffering, the world has thrown him another wrench. This short-lived human do-gooder is Astarion’s soulmate.
