Summary
You've never given them reason to call you a monster.
As long as you keep your sealskin close, call it a "cloak," and pretend you're absolutely normal, then you're safe, right?

Summary
You offered Mirabelle your cloak, once!
But she... refused.
Thinking back on it now, you're a little embarrassed.
She'd had enough problems on her plate without you bothering her.
Siffrin is a selkie far from home, a place lost to time and memory. Not much changes.

Summary
An ISAT universe where the Northern Islanders are—you guessed it!—selkies. Technically a series of oneshots but at this point in time I'd recommend reading them in order. Some timeline continuity and all that.

Summary
The journey to Bambouche begins.
Full of mishaps, food, and adventure! The whole of Vaugarde is celebrating, which means every town they visit is full of cheer and goodwill! What a nice change from before, when everyone was afraid of the King.
...Well. Time to get this show on the road.
Siffrin hopes he can remember his lines. There's no script this time, no second chances or do-overs. Can he still fit into his old role? Can he be the person he used to be?
Probably not. Can't hurt to try, though.

Summary
I've recently been unexpectedly promoted to lead a department in my organisation, wrote the anonymous emailer.
As there was no one working here when I arrived, my manager, who is head of the organisation, had promised me the choice of my own assistants. However, without warning, he simply presented me with an additional assistant. This new assistant’s first act on his first day was to let a dog into the office. It took several hours to catch and clean up after this dog and it has only been downhill from there. I admit I'm not entirely sure what to do with this assistant now I'm stuck with him. I'm hoping you have some advice?
Kind regards,

Summary
Vash is able to keep it together pretty well. He’s not the master of restraint he was once, particularly where Wolfwood is involved—but he can keep a handle on his emotions when it is for Wolfwood’s sake. He’s doing okay all through the ceremony, and even on their way out of the sanctuary.
He only starts to splinter when he hears Wolfwood’s name called from behind them. Turning, Vash sees that the preacher is approaching with his hand outstretched, the other waving over his head. And of course, Wolfwood is already smiling and moving forward. He allows the man to clap his shoulder, even though Vash can see the muscles in his neck tensing. Today just isn’t the day for it… but naturally, Wolfwood’s not going to tell the man to let them go.
Vash takes in a deep breath. Lets it out. He learned a handful of self-soothing techniques in therapy and searches for one now, wondering if it would be appropriate to start butterfly breathing in the lobby at their local church. Maybe it’d be better to count to ten?
---
Against Vash's better judgement, he and Wolfwood go to church on the day of a chronic pain flareup, and rushing straight home is never easy.

Summary
Vash the Stampede is indestructible until he isn't.
Wolfwood picks up the pieces.
(Wolfwood gathers every single broken fragment he can find, painstakingly glues them back together, and wills them—Vash—to just stay put for once, dammit.)

Summary
Wolfwood patches Vash up in the bathroom after a bar fight.
Vash finally answered his question from several minutes earlier, softly, around the time Wolfwood had forgotten he’d ever asked it out loud. “Guy called you a hack. I wasn’t just gonna sit there.”
Wolfwood frowned, pausing what he was doing. “Sittin’ and takin’ shit is all ya ever seem to do." An exaggeration, and he knew it, but he pressed on before Vash could say so. “What made this time any different?”
