That night, Chan had learned just how few Slytherins there were. In all of Hogwarts, nearly eight hundred students, only forty wore green and silver including him. Only forty had been willing to face the stigma, the prejudice, the way the rest of the school looked at them like they were Dark wizards waiting to come to fruition.
The post-war revelation that students could choose their houses, that the Sorting Hat would take their choice into account, had gutted Slytherin. Why would anyone choose to be hated? Why would anyone choose to be associated with Voldemort?
Only those who had no choice came to Slytherin now. Those whose families had been Slytherin for generations, pure-bloods with a family pride to uphold.
And, for some reason, Chan. The muggleborn who the Hat had decided belonged with the snakes.

It is almost three in the morning and someone left the door cracked open, so the hallway light cuts a sharp line across Jeonghan’s face where he is lying flat on his back beside him, chest rising and falling slow like the ocean pulling in and out.
Everything feels suspended in the quiet, no music bleeding from the speakers, no instructors barking corrections, no desperate energy of thirteen boys trying to prove themselves. Just the distant hum of Seoul’s sleepless pulse and two teenagers too exhausted to maintain the careful distance they have learned to keep.

They are stopped at a crosswalk across from their university. “I get that. I have so many expectations upon myself that it is hard to keep track, and I don’t blame you for avoiding it instead.” The light turns to walk but Chan does not make an effort to move. “Do you want to do something else, actually? I don’t really want to study right now.” I want to spend time with you goes unsaid.
From the moment Chan met Wonwoo, he was infected by parasites. The parasites ate away at him until all that was left was an empty husk of something that resembled a person, and the remnants of a need for Wonwoo.
or; chan has always wanted to be someone else. someone better, anyone other than the person he is. he keeps pretending, surrounded by friends who never really knew him.
then wonwoo appears, soft-spoken and sharp-eyed, offering cream puffs and conversation that feels like breathing for the first time. for a moment, chan forgets to lie. for a moment, he’s just a boy beside another boy beneath a starry sky, wanting something real.

Summary
Sitting on an abandoned train gives him a sense of freedom, even if it is just for ninety minutes. Perhaps even a sense of hope, a hint of life that is missing from him in every other aspect. Technically, students were not supposed to leave the school campus during break times but he could not help but give himself this amount of rebellion.
Maybe he is just a coward. A fool who cannot even go through with killing himself. At the very least, an idiot who cannot disobey his parents even if they are sucking the life out of him with every passing day.

Summary
on his first day of the spring semester of his freshman year, chan faces his worst fear, group projects. he ends up in a group with jeonghan, wonwoo, and minghao. however, due to past situations, the three of them and their friend groups hate each other. chan is the middleman between all the drama, all he wants to do is finish his project and get a good grade. but as time goes on, he becomes genuine friends with all of them and realizes that the drama is all a misunderstanding. it is all up to him to fix things.

“What?!” Chan exclaims, louder than he probably should. He lowers his voice after checking to see if his outburst garnered any attention, and adds, “Are you crazy? There is no way I’m hitting on my boss!”
