Summary
There is an old man at the back of the alley outside the convenience store Rin frequents. He might live there, but she’s not entirely sure, and she doesn’t care enough to confirm any of her suspicions. She’d love to ignore him entirely, but she does have to pay a modicum of attention to him- after all, her Hierophant social link lies in his wrinkled hands.
Danzo teaches her how to fight and his affection for her fuels her Hierophant personas. In return, she- ugh- listens to him complain about his surprisingly complicated love life.
She’s still trying to figure out whether it’s worth it to hang out with him.

Summary
Rin has, in no uncertain terms, absolutely mastered the art of customer service mode. Her smiles and cheery tone are so unwavering that if Obito hadn’t run into her on the way to the grocery store at 1 am a couple of months ago, he wouldn’t even suspect that she was even capable of acting any other way.
That’s why it’s so weird when she starts dropping the facade whenever a tall, pale woman drops by to get coffee. It starts with thinly barbed insults, and slight smirks whenever she thinks no other customers are watching, but soon enough it escalates to the point where Obito can look into her eyes and see just how dead inside she is.
They have to be flirting. There’s no other explanation for it.

Summary
“I’m sorry about the restraints,” Kakashi says. “We need to make sure you’re properly secured.”
She nods. It makes sense. There are better solutions, of course, but it makes sense.
Kakashi exhales silently. She can’t hear his breath, but she can see the way his shoulders droop, how his chin sags down. “We’ll figure this out,” he murmurs.
Rin simply stares back expectantly. He’s the one who brought her here. It should be his responsibility to fix this.
“It’s going to be okay, Rin,” he says. “I’ll save you.”

Summary
Kakashi never knew Rin all that well, to be perfectly honest. He had never been interested in making connections before, too focused on training and detaching himself from everyone and everything. And then afterwards… Rin was there, yes, but even as he had tried to watch over her for Obito, everything had been coated in that endless grey. Through all his watching, he hadn’t really watched at all.
Throughout it all, Rin’s smile remains. Is she this naturally placid, or has it always looked this fixed in place?
Sometimes Kakashi looks at her and wonders if he ever truly knew her at all.
