The way he held himself, the knife still moving gently in his hands. Despite what looked like boredom in the very arch of his brow, Dunk could feel the weight of his gaze, the way he sized him up and shrunk him down in the same dip of his lashes. He laughed nervously, “No, but I believe it.”

He stalled his musings to cup the boy’s face in his hands. Dunk’s eyes glistened like sapphires.
“Do you know your place, Ser Duncan? Or are you really as thick as you say?”
“Yes, m’lord," came the breathless reply, "I mean– no, m’lord. I mean, I am stupid, but I know my place.”
"Good," Lyonel said,
“Then why the fuck do I still see you standing?”
Dunk and Lyonel engage in obeisance.
