Summary
“Never have I ever defused a bomb,” Sam says. October 1995. There’s context but it’s swimming in Sam’s head; he just remembers Dean, sixteen and incapacitated in the dirt next to him, one of Sam’s earlier hunts. He’d had a strawberry milkshake afterwards for some reason and Dean had made constant comments about how it was girly because it was pink, which even at twelve struck Sam as faintly pathetic, but Dad had just laughed at him and ruffled Sam’s hair and been in too altogether a good mood, when Sam felt like curling up under the table of the diner and trying to rub every spec of dirt off his body and never coming out.
“No one’s done that, Sam,” Brady says, a little tiredly. “Pick something different.”
“Um,” Sam says. “Never have I ever had to hide college brochures inside porn mags.”OR:

Summary
The problem, Sam thinks, is that his cheek still really fucking hurts, and that’s kind of making it hard to search for snarky rejoinders to being punched in the face, or even to ask, hey, Dean, what the hell, I’m like two-thirds of your size and that really hurt, cause the part of Sam’s brain that’s normally focused on being quick and clever and whining at Dean is currently occupied telling him don’t ask him, you idiot, cause you don’t want him to hit you again.
1994-2005. Dean hits Sam kind of a lot.

Summary
Sometimes, Deana catches Dad looking at her, something intense in his gaze as he surveys every inch of her. In those moments, she knows he’s looking at her and thinking of Mary, measuring her from feet to forehead in comparison with his dead wife and finding her just a little short. In those moments, she has to resist the urge to apologise.
I’m sorry I’m not her. I’m sorry she’s not here and instead you have me. The imperfect reincarnation. The eternal reminder.Deana Winchester, through the years.

Summary
Let it be said, John Winchester has nothing against gay people. Sure, it’s a little odd sometimes, but he knows his own personal discomfort shouldn’t impact the way other people live their lives. He doesn’t care so much. He’s open-minded. He’s a modern man. And that’s a good thing, too, with a son like Sammy.
October 1996. John Winchester worries that thirteen year old Sammy is gay, Dean Winchester worries about John worrying, and Sam is blissfully oblivious.
OR:
Dean, always trying his best to get between John and Sam, even when Sam’s nowhere nearby and the only fight they’re having is in John’s head. But he’s right. Though that makes John think, suddenly, of his concerns—concerns?—from earlier. Soccer. It is a girly sport, right? Who plays soccer? Europeans, eight year olds, and girls, at least in John’s experience. Is he hopelessly behind the times? “Dean,” he says. “Is it just me, or do you think soccer’s kind of a girly sport?"Series

Summary
It doesn’t matter how big or how clever he gets, Sam thinks. He's still just the little brother, the youngest son, the baby, there to be put down and bossed around and derided as selfish and mean and bratty and stupid and betraying the family for daring to want things. His cardinal sin: Sam has never been able to quash the desire he deserves something better.
July 1998. John Winchester has GPS trackers implanted in his sons, predictably without telling his youngest. Sam is not pleased. Dean deals with the fallout.
Three points of view (sort of). One story.
OR:
Sam does a lot of things Dean can’t fathom, but locking himself in the bathroom and attempting to operate on himself has got to be the most patently insane.Series

Summary
“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”
Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”
“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”
In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.
So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.
