The banging overhead had been going on for a while now, dull thuds growing quieter until a deafening silence took over.
He didn’t have much time to think about it before something dropped into the lake from overhead.
What was that?
Were people throwing random shit in here now? God damn it, fantastic. Now he had to deal with lake pollution on top of being trapped.
If this was Lindsay trying to get his attention, he’d splash her so fucking much.
Glaring up to the surface, his frown quickly turned into surprise at the hand dangling in the water, connected to a very familiar sleeve.
Cody had never put his hand in the water before. This was very new.
Guess he must have been feeling particularly sad.
It didn’t matter, the water was too cold for him, he needed to get his hand out before he caught something that really would kill him.

Summary
Showing that hextech worked, and the subsequent debate with the Council, was exhausting. More than that, it wore out Viktor's lungs, meaning that he needed to get himself some medicine from the undercity. Unfortunately, witnessing a hextech blue explosion means his plans for the future irrevocably change.
Two hextech partners become three hextech partners, as Powder latches onto Viktor instead of Silco.
But Silco didn't make Jinx -Vi did. It's already too late for Powder, and Jinx will take her pain out on Piltover, the undercity, and anyone else she wants to.
She has friends, though, and family -people who care for her. In time, it may be enough to heal her . . . at least a little. There will be a happy ending to the sad story of sisters and sister cities.
