Summary
She and Trinity were casual, which meant beautiful women in bars weren’t off limits.
Which meant beautiful women in bars were necessary, even, to push away thoughts of the softness of Trinity’s lips against Yolanda’s thighs, taking her sweet time as Yolanda writhed beneath her. The roughness of her whispers after a shared midnight cigarette on the fire escape. The heat of her hands searching under the hem of Yolanda’s hoodie, when she’d used to stay for coffee the next morning. The cold of the empty side of the bed in the mornings recently.
or
Yolanda is caught in a lie but it turns out better than she let herself dream of.

A simple two-story home sat tucked into the street, its porch lined with a couple of mismatched chairs and a small coffee table that looked like it had seen years of slow mornings and louder afternoons.

Summary
“We’re matching, you like everyone knowing you’re mine?”
“Very much,” she whispers, leaning in to bite Santos’s bottom lip. She groans at the contact before Yolanda kisses her properly. “My handsome girl. All mine.”
“All yours,” Trinity breathlessly mutters back, threading her hand through Yolanda’s curls as she deepens the kiss. They’re so lost in the act that they don’t hear Whitaker rounding the corner and pushing open the door.
“Did you take my deodorant again—jeez, guys. Get a room.”
***
Trinity drags Yolanda, Dennis and Victoria to Pittsburgh's pride march, where no one seems to get the hint that her and Garcia are very much taken. Later that night, she shows Yolanda just how committed she is.

Summary
“Do I make you nervous?” she asks, although her tone of voice tells Trinity she already knows the answer. She reaches across the bar and wraps a hand loosely around the base of Trinity’s beer, thumb coming up to pick demurely at the peeling label of it.
“No,” she lies. Her heartbeat thuds furiously against her chest, and, maddeningly, between her legs.
A condescending smile parts Garcia’s lips. “Are you sure about that?” she asks. “You’re looking a little warm, Santos.”

Summary
Santos should be in her last year of med school, but instead, she's making coffees across the street from the life she's supposed to have.
She's good at keeping people out, burning things down before they burn her first.
Then Garcia walks in and orders the shitty-looking cinnamon roll, and it all goes sideways from there.

Summary
There’s a long silence. Trinity can hear the hum of the other person talking, but Yolanda is holding her phone to her ear, so it’s impossible to make out what exactly is being said.
It must be important, though, because Yolanda puts down the spatula and whispers, “Andrea.”
A beat.
“Creo que me estoy enamorando de ella.”
I think that I’m falling in love with her.
