As Olruggio relaxed, he began to look more drained–he was still ill, after all, and it was only growing later.
“I should leave you to your rest,” said Qifrey, once his cup was empty. “I’ll be back with breakfast in the morning. Any requests?”
Olruggio eyed him. “Yes,” he said. “Stay here tonight.”
Qifrey’s heart skipped a beat again. “As in, sleep here? In your room?”
“What else could I mean, Qifrey?”
It's early winter in the atelier, and Olruggio has come down with a bad cold. Qifrey–and the girls–conspire to take care of him with no thanks needed, but Olruggio can't help but show his gratitude in the end.

Qifrey’s formal robes were a piece of art in their own right. Bankrolled by Beldaruit as a final graduation gift, they were a pale smoke, nearly white, and from what Olruggio could remember the golden embroidery was a sight to see. It vined along the bottom hem and wrapped organically around his throat, and when Olly had seen them for the first time he hadn’t known what to say. Qifrey had stepped forward to speak to him and he’d simply stared until gently reminded that he was still, in fact, capable of speech.
(Truthfully, just an elaborate set piece to put both dads in formal robes for an evening.)
