“Can we hang out now?” It breaks Izuku from his spell as he looks almost desperately at Katsuki. For what, he doesn’t really understand. But he returns the emotion. Tries to convey it within his own face. His voice is barely a whisper, and if Izuku were farther it might have been too low.
“Anything you want, Katsuki.” And it's said like a promise. Said like he means it in a hundred different ways and he's willing to prove it in all. As if he's promising a future to him without even knowing the consequences. It's a promise, it's a swear. “All you have to do is ask.” A faint whisper of a vow.
But when he moves away it feels like a lie.

“Maybe in another life-” Megumi’s voice was choked off and a sob broke through. Unconsciously he tightened the hold of his eyes, rainbows fluttered where the black should be. It was hard to breathe, and even made him feel like being sick.
Strong hands clutched at his jaw, tightening to the point where it was uncomfortable, and he shot his eyes open, only to be met with unrelenting golden ones.
“There is no other fucking life Megumi, you’re either with me now or never, because there might not be a future for me.” Panic coursed through his veins, and Megumi held onto the hand that clutched his face hard. Terror from the idea of him dying again plaguing his thoughts. “And god dammit, I want every moment of this miserable life to be with you.”

“T-t-the fuck a-are you!?” His mind wandered to Mei. He quite liked that name. Sure it was pretty on the nose. But he could always just stick to classics.
“Oh little old me? I’m Spiderman of course.” And with that he kicked the man in the nuts. With the steel toed shoe. Knowing that that had hurt. If his scream was anything to go by. And then he punched the man in the nose. Knocking him out. Breaking his nose in the process. The gun had flown out of his hand when Izuku sent him in the air. So he webbed it next to him as well.
A shuffle brought him from his proud moment.

Draco can think of only one way to outclass his pleat-front-khaki-wearing politician ex, and that’s by making headlines with an obvious upgrade. And who better to upstage the cheating bastard than the Saviour of the World, Harry Potter himself? Sure, Potter is a little rough around the edges in ripped jeans, a rumpled tartan shirt, and a permanent scowl. Draco reckons a haircut and a shave wouldn’t hurt, either. But Potter is also in need of a Healer willing to keep his secrets, and Draco is just the man for the job. It’s a perfectly reasonable exchange. They need only attend a couple parties arm-in-arm, smile nicely for the paparazzi, and tolerate each other long enough to convince everyone they’re smitten. In return, Draco will keep Potter alive and in one piece.
But it isn’t long before Draco realises he might be in over his head, because Potter is ten tonnes of trouble packed into a leather jacket, and seems keen on hurtling himself towards death on the back of a flying motorbike. And that says nothing of Potter’s penchant for fire-breathing beasts and things that bite.
Ah well, at least they’ll have some fun while it lasts. After all, Draco always did like a bit of danger.

Lance looked at Allura, who was smiling brightly, and then at Keith, who was very pointedly not looking back at him.
"So what you're telling me," Lance said, hating the way his heart felt like it was breaking into a thousand tiny pieces, "Is that Keith hates me so strongly that the spell didn't have an effect on him?"
(Or, a witch casts a love spell on the paladins of Voltron, making them all fall in love with Lance. The only one unaffected is Keith, so naturally Lance assumes Keith's feelings of hate are so strong that not even a love spell can overcome them.)
